Igbo Union Stoke-on-Trent Celebrates Memorable Second Annual End-of-Year Party
On December 12, 2023, the Igbo Union Stoke-on-Trent gathered in high spirits for their second annual end-of-year party, held at Weston Coyney Village Hall. This year’s celebration saw an extraordinary turnout with over 200 members participating, marking a significant increase in engagement within the community.
The event was meticulously organized by the planning committee, led by Elvis Nwankor, and supported enthusiastically by the executive team and President Mr. Anthony Claret Onwutalobi. It featured a delightful visit from Father Christmas and Santa Claus, who brought joy to the children by distributing numerous gifts. The president contributed to the festive mood by hosting a quiz for the children, who impressed everyone with their intelligence, taking home an array of prizes.
In his speech, President Onwutalobi expressed his gratitude to the members for their ongoing commitment and resilience. He emphasized that gatherings like these serve to thank God for the blessings of life and to strengthen the bonds within the community. His words reinforced the event’s dual purpose: to celebrate the year’s successes and to underscore the organization’s objectives and commitment to promoting Igbo culture and community cohesion.
The party was not only a celebration but also a vibrant exhibition of Igbo culture, featuring an abundance of food, lively dancing, and extensive opportunities for networking. Both adults and children enjoyed a variety of fun games and entertainment, making the event a colorful and joyous occasion for all attendees.
Members left the party with high spirits and positive feedback, often expressing amazement at the massive turnout and the well-coordinated activities. The successful event not only reinforced the unity and strength of the Igbo community in Stoke-on-Trent but also set a hopeful tone for the continued growth and success of the association.
As the Igbo Union looks forward to future gatherings, the collective enthusiasm and active participation of its members suggest a bright future for this vibrant community organization.
