Moffat Manor Holiday 2025: A Legacy of Joy and Unity
If you missed our unforgettable holiday to Moffat Manor, Scotland, you truly missed something special! From 25th to 27th July 2025, 49 members and their families of the Igbo Union Stoke-on-Trent embarked on a spectacular adventure that will remain in our hearts for years to come.

Day 1 – The Grand Convoy Experience (25/07/2025)
Our journey began at Tesco Hanley, where excitement filled the air as we set out in a grand convoy filled with laughter and unity. A 45-minute lunch stop along the way turned into a mini-picnic of chatter and bonding, setting the tone for the weekend.
Upon arrival at Moffat Manor in Beattock, Dumfries, families were handed the keys to their beautiful cabins. By evening, the real celebration began. At 7 PM, we gathered for a royal feast — peppered goat meat, suya, meat pies, kpof-kpof, assorted drinks, and more. Laughter filled the hall as games, jokes, and children’s play created an atmosphere of pure joy.
By 10 PM, the children were tucked in, but the adults proudly represented Umuigbo in Scotland! The club came alive as we danced, mingled, and showcased the spirit of Ndi Igbo — reminding everyone that wherever we go, we bring life and energy.
Day 2 – Fitness, Fun, and Glasgow Adventures (26/07/2025)
Saturday morning began with fitness and fellowship — a refreshing walk and jog around the serene ponds of Moffat Manor, followed by a hearty breakfast.
By midday, we set off for Glasgow, enjoying sightseeing before settling down to a sumptuous buffet feast. The evening back at Moffat Manor was another celebration filled with food, drinks, music, and laughter. Some adventurous members even returned to the clubs, keeping the festive energy alive long into the night.
Day 3 – Reluctant Goodbyes (27/07/2025)
Sunday came too soon. After packing up, our convoy headed home, pausing for a delightful meal stop to sustain the cheerful mood. Yet, the most heartwarming part of the day came from the children and teenagers — none of them wanted it to end.
Little Ituma’s daughter asked with a bright smile, “When are we doing this again?”
Mrs. Uzoka’s 16-year-old son, Kosi, summed it up perfectly:
“This was too short. Can we make this a yearly thing?”
Even the teenagers, often the hardest to impress, echoed the same request: “Let’s do this every year!”
More Than a Holiday — A Legacy
This trip was far more than a simple getaway. It was about family, culture, laughter, and the kind of bonding that creates lasting memories. We demonstrated that the Igbo Union is not just about meetings and formalities, but about building real-life connections and celebrating our shared heritage in action.
To everyone who made this possible — you are the heartbeat of this legacy. Together, we have started a tradition that will be remembered, cherished, and talked about for years to come.
